   • Planning and organising all activities in the Early Childhood Education Unit  

   • Overall supervision of all ECE programmes run by the unit   

   • Programme Coordinator for the Certificate in Early Childhood in Education Programme (CPECE)

   • To assist all activities carried out in the Early Childhood Education Unit
Lecture in Psychology at all levels at the MIE and in Early Childhood Education. Other modules taught are: 
   • Guidance and Counselling, Thinking skills, Developmental and Educational psychology and Understanding Adolescence. 
   • Designing and writing of programmes.

   • Programme Coordinator for Teachers Diploma in Early Childhood Education

   • Carry Out workshops.

(a) Area of Specialisation : Special Education Needs and Counselling 
(b) Responsibility/ies : 
   • To assist all activities carried out in the Early Childhood Education Unit
Lecture in Psychology at all levels at the MIE and in Early Childhood Education. Other modules taught are: 
   • Thinking skills, Developmental and Educational psychology and Understanding Adolescence.

   • Designing and writing of programmes.

   • Coordinator for Foundation Course for Child Day caregivers.

   • Carry Out workshops.

Projects carried out by the Unit

2009

 MIE in collaboration with other stakeholders developed the National Curriculum Framework Pre-primary

2009 to date

 Representing MIE at the MQA to work out standards for Quality in the Sector. National Certificate in ECE, Levels 1-4.

2010

 Implementation phase

  •  Training of Trainers
  •  Training of Educators on NCF as well as monitoring of remaining sessions in the centres
  •  Preparation of Kit for training and supervision and other support materials

 

 Reviewing and developing the Bridging the Gap pupils’ workbook

2011

 Participate on workshop on Children’s Bill

 Foundation Course for Child Minding

 Teacher Support Materials and Manual of Activities for the National Curriculum Framework Pre-primary.
