The vision of MIE library is to position itself as one of the leading academic libraries in Mauritius. The library also aims to provide seamless access to educational information to users, especially the registered students and the academic staff.
The library's mission is to provide the MIE community with access to rich and relevant information resources to support their research, teaching and learning activities.
- Develop and maintain policies and programmes that are oriented towards and centered on users.
- Support and enhance teaching and learning process by delivering and promoting the effective use of information resources and services.
- Promote the standing and good reputation of the institute through excellence in library service; collaboration with other organizations and staff contribution to the teachers' community.

Area and Sitting capacity
The library is located within the core of the Réduit Campus, and it has an area of 375m² and with a book capacity of 45,000 volumes and a reading space for 80 readers.
There is also an area within the lending section which is equipped with PC's where users can have access to online journals databases to which the library subscribes.
Curriculum Resource Centre
This unit is located on the 3rd floor of the MIE New Tower Complex. This unit is the focal point within the library by providing encouragement for active and individual learning which is at the heart of the curriculum. It houses the pre-primary, primary and secondary curriculum resources, such as books, curriculum guides, videos, DVD's, thematic units, educational kits.
